Well I was cruising some blogs yesterday and came across a card sketch over on freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com. The sketch jumped at me and said I will be perfect for your upcoming swap with your group. So I looked at the submissions and came up with 2 cards. Here is the sketch.
Unfortunately I was too late to play with all the other participants so I didn't link my card back to their page.
Here are the 2 cards I came up with.
Both cards use the following items.
Stamp set
Paper
Ink
Embellishments
I chose to use small strips of the Typeset designer series paper behind the main sun burst image for this landscape card. I really liked the impact the diagonal stripes gave to the card. The sentiment stamp is from the stamp set A Dozen Thoughts and is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento.
I stamped the sunburst on a piece of the grid paper from Typeset designer series paper for the focal point on this portrait card. I stamped the dots from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set behind the main image. The sentiment for this card is from the stamp set And Many More. I cut it out using the Big Shot and Bitty Banners Framelits.
The butterfly was punched out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and then I used the new and not available until August 28 Handheld Stapler and mini silver staples. And I used Dimensionals to give the added height to the main image, butterfly and Happy Healing sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed these cards. I now know why people like the sketch challenges. It really does help get your creative juices flowing. I just hope I can create something and link it in time for the next challenge. I am hoping to go and check out some of the past sketches and get even more creative ideas. I will keep you posted.
Have a wonderful day!
Jana
