Great weekend!

I have had such a great weekend!  Friday I got to go with my friend +Bobbie Hartsell and go up north to Renton, WA.  That is a suburb of Seattle.  We went to a fantastic store called Impress.  We had lots of fun in there.  We then went to our motel and checked in.  It was so nice to relax and just be (for lack of a better word) lazy.  We went out to eat and then lazed a bit more before calling it a night.

In the morning the fun began.  We went out for breakfast and then checked out of our motel.  We then headed to Redmond, WA for the Stampin' Up! Unite and Excite event.
Bobbie and I on our way to Unite & Excite!
This event was small and intimate.  Only 75 demonstrators were there.  It was fabulous.  Met some fantastic ladies and learned a bunch from seasoned demonstrators and new ones too!  It always amazes me the new ideas I come home with after an event.  My upline (the lady who got me to sign up for Stampin' Up!) +Sherron Karasek even had a presentation at the event.
After the event we had a more than 2 hour drive home.  Thank goodness for no major traffic!  When I got home I had another event at 5pm.  Paper Pumpkin Night Out!  This was another small intimate group.  3 friends came over to make a couple of projects using the July Paper Pumpkin kit.

These two samples were Nancy's take on the July Paper Pumpkin kit.

Batty for Project Life Holiday Cheer and Mingle all the Way

No matter how much I want summer to stick around forever fall is right around the bend.  Fall does bring one of my favorite holidays...Halloween!  Whether it is dark and scary or bright and cheery Halloween is fun.  With that I bring you another Halloween card.  You can view my other Halloween card here

I just love stamping my own background papers.  For this I used  2 of the Halloween stamps from Project Life Holiday Cheer pg 35 of the Holiday catalog.  This set is so versatile.  Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas with 2 border stamps.  Love it!

I used the Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie markers from the Many Marvelous Markers to color the words from the Mingle all the Way stamp set.  I just love how this turned out.  I added a bit of ribbon over the Pumpkin Pie cardstock and that was it.  I really like how this card turned out.  I hope you do too.

For All Things, FMS 152

Apparently I am hooked on challenges now.  I am having such fun trying new colors together for color challenges and new designs for sketch challenges.  Challenges are keeping my creativity flowing. This is for Freshly Made Sketches 152
I still have cardstock cut from my Holiday Catalog open house.  I figure why put it back in the drawer when I can use it to create something now.  Not only am I hooked on challenges but I am hooked on this stamp set For All Things.  I promise tomorrows post will have a different stamp set!  I am also using the word hooked alot.  That must be because I am crocheting today too. :)  I really like how this card turned out and I hope you do too.  If you do feel free to leave me a comment.

For All Things, CCC11

I was reading Patty Bennett's blog and saw this Color Challenge.  I am trying to do more challenges since they challenge me to think outside my box.  These colors are beautiful together but I would never have used them with out this challenge.  Thank you to the design team over at Creative Challenge Club for the inspiration!
Creative Challenge Club
Here is my card for the challenge.  I had fun trying to decide which color would be the base of the card and what stamps to use.  I used For all Things on page 41 of the Holiday catalog.  I did stamp first with the Island Indigo then I used the Pumpkin Pie and last the Crushed Curry.  I guess you could say I did bring a 4th color for the bonus challenge with the Burlap Ribbon I think it looks like Crumb Cake :).

I tied a knot of Linen Thread around the Burlap Ribbon.  I was going to have the sentiment hang from the ribbon originally, but it seemed to get lost in the stamped background.  I glued it to the ribbon and bam my card was complete.  I used Dimensionals to raise up the Island Indigo layer because ribbon always bunches up the layer it is wrapped around.  The pictures make the Island Indigo look more blue than it really is.   I do really like this color combo

Calypso Coral Flower Patch

Today I made a couple cards and this one I really liked.  It is fun and happy.  I have made a few fall cards but am not really ready for fall or any of the fall holidays. I am hoping for an Indian Summer I guess.  So in hopes of prolonged warm weather, sunshine, and swimming in the pool here is a Summery card.

Mingle All The Way Merry Monday Challenge

I had fun doing a couple different challenges last week.  So I decided to do another challenge this week.  The challenges make me kind of think outside the box.  Here is this weeks challenge.  Your card must include a present somewhere on it.  I hope you like what I did.
I don't have any present or gift stamps so I used a past Paper Pumpkin stamp set and made my gifts.  I used the gluestick to attach a piece of ribbon to the presents and then I made little bows and used the mini glue dots to attach them to the top of the presents.  I think they turned out really cute.  This card gave me the perfect spot to use the Mingle All The Way stamp.
